Puppets of grades

During the last week there was placement week for prm 31, financial jobs were rolling out the maximum pay-cheque, and suddenly people out of deep slumber got up and realized its the financial subjects which can land them up in the so called best jobs. Nobody questioned one owns interest or choice. The amount have said it for everyone, I personally don't know what to do but i ask a question that is social pressure or rather initial salary is so important that we have to fulfill it at the cost of one's interest. In the same way i sometimes that are we studying for grades so that our cv can get shortlisted for an MNC and we can land up with a fat pay-cheque. Do we give importance to our desire's our choices or are we all puppets of grades and placements. I am searching the answers for myself and is thinking about those who take the road less traveled.
